Birbingham (Alabama) – The second round of the season’s Pro Mazda Championship proved to be full of satisfactions for RP Motorsport Racing. Harrison Scott won the race-2 at Barber Motorsports Park, after taking the second step of the podium in the first race of the weekend. The British pilot has exploited in the best way the changeable weather conditions to achieve success, after being taken from the fourth position of the deployment. Luckily the weekend of Lodovico Laurini, initially conditioned by some technical problems and then by a drive-through that prevented him from fighting for the top positions. Great satisfaction for the Team Principal Fabio Pampado and for the entire Italian team for this first success in the American series: the goal now is to confirm this trend also in the upcoming championship races, starting from the prestigious event scheduled in Indianapolis.
The one staged in Alabama was an almost perfect weekend, where the Italian team has maximized its potential and managed to redeem the unfortunate debut of Saint Petersburg. Scott was able to join the leading group starting from the first qualifications, at the end of which he achieved the second half, then finishing in the same position in the race at the end of a solid and smudge-free performance. The real masterpiece then arrived the next day, when despite a race characterized by difficult weather conditions, the British driver managed to crown the weekend in the best way, giving RP Motorsport Racing the first triumph in the second round of the season. A bit of regret for Lodovico Laurini, who however ended up growing a weekend started with some technical problems: the pilot from Emilia, after finishing race-1 in 13th position, won the ninth place in the second heat at the end of a good comeback and showcasing a good race pace that bodes well for the future.
Fabio Pampado (Team Principal RP Motorsport Racing): “We are very happy to have achieved this result here in Alabama It is incredible to think about all the efforts made so far and how this first success can pay off the great work done by the whole team. team was perfect, working in synergy and rowing constantly in one direction. We also want to take this opportunity to thank all our partners who have supported us to get here, as well as the organization of the championship and also the other teams for the wonderful reception reserved for us, we now hope to be able to repeat it soon: we can not wait to go to Indianapolis! “
Harrison Scott (RP Motorsport Racing driver): “It’s unbelievable, I’m really thrilled to have taken this result that gives me and the team the first success in the US, to go up twice on the podium highlights the fantastic work of the whole team , but the success of race-2 takes on a special flavor also because it has reached the end of a difficult race, with the rain that arrived in the final and many unknowns to be overcome with the slick tires. better ways and now we are going to enjoy this success waiting for the next challenge! “
Lodovico Laurini (RP Motorsport Racing driver): “I am very happy for this result achieved by the team! Personally I expected to bring home a better result, but unfortunately things have taken a wrong turn since Thursday when I could only run ten Then we tried to recover, but the lack of experience on the track has denied us the chance to exploit the car 100%, but the race pace was good on both occasions: it was a shame for the drive-through I suffered, otherwise the sixth / seventh place would have been within my reach, so we have to start from this to get more satisfactions in Indianapolis “.
The next round of the Pro Mazda Championship will be staged in the legendary Indianapolis scenario, with the Tatuus PM-18 of the RP Motorsport Racing team ready to fight from 10 to 12 May on the street circuit built into the most famous circuit in the world.
