RP Motorsport Racing is pleased to announce that Damiano Fioravanti will be the new driver of the team for the 2017 World Series Formula V8 3.5 championship. The 20-year old driver from Rome, after two positive seasons with our colors in the Euroformula Open, where he emerged as one of the best young talents, will debut this year in the prestigious international series at the wheel of Dallara with the powerful V8 3.5 engine.
After conquering the 7th place in his first year with RP Motorsport (winning a race at Monza), and have further improved in 2016 by getting the 5th place in the championship (with four podiums), this year the young Fioravanti will be present in a very prestigious setting, thanks to the new partnership that will see the cars of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 in support of the FIA WEC in six appointments on the nine planned: Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Nurburgring, Mexico City, Austin and Sakhir.
Fabio Pampado, RP Motorsport Racing team principal: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Damiano, who has already shown his talent in the previous two years with our team in Euroformula Open. It’s a step further in his personal growth, and the decision to give him one of our two cars in such a competitive championship is a sign of confidence that we are sure will be rewarded in the best way. In previous testing has revealed its full potential, so we look forward to getting back on track in order to prepare our second season in this category in the best way”.
Damiano Fioravanti, RP Motorsport Racing driver: “I am very delighted to be part of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 for 2017 season. It represents an extraordinary opportunity for me and I am very excited to start this new adventure. It is a step that comes at the right time in my career, after seasons of precious experience in Euroformula Open championship. I already tried the car last December in Jerez and the feeling was really good, thanks to a fantastic staff of engineers and mechanics who already knew in the last two years. It will certainly be an exciting challenge in a very prestigious championship: I would like to thank especially my father for its efforts in supporting my career, as well as Fabio Pampado and Niki Rocca of RP Motorsport Racing. Now it’s up to me to repay their trust”.
The first event of the new season is scheduled for March 15-16th at Aragon circuit (Spain) for the first test session, which will be followed by the one scheduled for March 23-24th in Jerez de la Frontera. RP Motorsport Racing will then move to Silverstone, to compete on 15-16th April in the first stage of a season full of emotions.
