RP Motorsport Racing – Seventh place in Race 2 at Monza
RP Motorsport Racing completed the home weekend of their Formula V8 3.5 season with another points finish and with some interesting indications. In race 2 at Monza, the Italian squad saw Will Buller cross the line in P7 after a great qualifying performance with a third place. Overall the British driver experienced a positive comeback to the series after two-years of absence, and highlighted the potential of the car.
On the other hand, bad luck struck team-mate Vitor Baptista. The young Brazilian had to retire after a spin on lap 15, but his car was already damaged after a contact at the start.
RP Motorsport is now ready to focus on next Formula V8 3.5 round at Jerez de la Frontera, on the 29th and 30th of October.
Will Buller (#21) – Q2 P3 1:35.232 – Race 2 P7 +9.265
“It’s not the result that myself and the team wanted, but our pace in qualifying was really good. I liked to be on the podium for sure, we were competitive enough for it. Anyway, I want to thank RP Motorsport for this opportunity”.
Vitor Baptista (#22) – Q2 P11 1:35.692 – Race 2 DNF
“At the start I made contact with another driver. My car suffered small front-end damage and the handling became really oversteering. This led to my mistake at the first corner, where I hit the kerb and spun”.
